The Inheritance Provision (Family and Dependants Act) 1975 provides the Courts with powers to make financial provision from the estate of a deceased person for dependents where no provision has been made in a Will or insufficient provision has been made. It also applies when no Will has been made. At 1st Solicitors we are experienced in claims of this type. Often claims are able to be settled without the need of Court proceedings but if necessary we are able to issue proceedings in Court.
Many people feel they have been disinherited by a parent, former partner or other person that they have been financially dependent upon. 1st Solicitors have experience in pursuing claims including claims by partners of a member of the Armed Forces killed in action and obtaining settlement for infant children upon the death of 1 or both of the parents.
