Nigel Rostance qualified as a Solicitor in 1980. Nigel has over 4 decades of experience in working in the law. He has a wide range of experience in private practice having started his career in Stoke on Trent before moving to Stafford in the 1990’s. In the past his work has involved working in clinical negligence settling a brain injury case for £1.5 million, child abuse settling a claim for £50,000.

He established 1st Solicitors with his business partner in 2005 and now undertakes matrimonial and property work including Wills. He successfully acted for a father in High Court proceedings in the reported case R N (A Child: Religion: Jehovah Witness). He also has wide experience in Children’s Act proceedings of dealing with matrimonial issues involving divorce, property and finance.

As a single parent of 2 teenagers a member of Resolution, a Collaborative Family lawyer and a trained mediator (none practicing) Helen has a particularly good understanding of the issues affecting families at the end of a relationship. Helen has a reputation of being fair and firm and believes in providing a supportive personal service however best suits the needs of your family.

Helen qualified as a Solicitor in 1989 and has worked in North Staffordshire and Stafford. Much of Helen’s new business results from personal recommendations from former clients and other professionals.

Helen was one of the first qualified Collaborative Family Lawyers in Staffordshire. Helen regularly deals with divorce, separation, civil partnership, children’s disputes, financial matters involving property and jurisdictions, family businesses and private and public sector pensions.

Helen firmly believes in providing the procedure or procedures best suited to the needs of each family.

In recent years Helen has learned to play the cornet with Trentham Brass and has enjoyed playing at Leeds City Hall with the famous Black Dyke Band. She also reads constantly; thrillers and historical novels, and enjoys films and sea air... whenever possible.
